The 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Asian Lubricant Manufacturers Union (ALMU) will be held on Tuesday, 29 September 2020, at 11.00 am (SG Time). The AGM fulfills ALMU’s legal obligations and will provide members with an update on the previous year’s activities.
The AGM will be held virtually due to ongoing travel restrictions relating to Covid-19. Papers for the meeting, including previous AGM minutes, attendance and proxy form, and audited financial statements, have been sent to ALMU members via email.
We are also excited to announce that immediately following the conclusion of the AGM, ALMU will hold a Virtual Town Hall Meeting, from approximately 11.30 am until 12.30 pm (SG Time). New ALMU Chairman, Mr. Tan Pai Kok, who is vice president operations, lubricants, Asia Pacific & Middle East, at Total Oil Asia Pacific Pte Limited, will outline the association’s path over his term in office. Mr. Tan’s address will include an update on ALMU activities and new initiatives, including the recently published ALMU Sustainability Statement, ALMU Membership Extension, and a new ALMU Member Rewards Programme.
The entire ALMU leadership will be represented during the AGM and Virtual Town Hall Meeting including the following Co-Vice Chairmen: Dr. T.C.S.M Gupta, senior vice president, quality, R&D and technical at Apar Industries Limited; Mr. David A. Barned, global vice president, operations & supply chain/general manager – North America, of Master Fluid Solutions; and Mr. Wang Zijian, head of overseas business and marine oil department, at PetroChina Lubricant Company.
Other members of the ALMU Council include previous ALMU Chairman Dr. Ho Leng Woon, chairman, AP Oil International Limited; Ms. Sharmini Lohadhasan, counsel, brands, BP Singapore Pte Limited; Mr. M Mukul Hossain, chief executive officer, MJL Bangladesh Limited; Ms. Mia Krishna Anggraini, vice president, overseas, PT Pertamina Lubricants; Mr. Keesu Ryu, general manager, technology group, SK Lubricants Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Kwok Yew Meng, global marketing & technical services manager, Gulf Oil Marine Limited.
Members will also have an opportunity to engage with ALMU subcommittee leaders as they provide a summary of individual subcommittee plans. Mr. Watcharapong Pathompanich (Alex), business development manager at P.S.P. Specialties Co., Ltd., will provide an update on how the Events & Activities Subcommittee will navigate a Covid-19 affected landscape, and Ms. Sharmini Lohadhasan will deliver an outline of activities of the Governance, Best Practices & International Relations Subcommittee; relating to a white paper on Counterfeit Lubricants in Asia and plans for a white paper on On-Highway Commercial Vehicle Lubricant Quality in Key Asian Markets.
Membership Subcommittee Chair, Ms. Mia Krishna Anggraini, will detail how ALMU will continue to grow its membership, and with it, opportunities for members to engage with fellow industry professionals. Dr. Ho Leng Woon and Mr. David A. Barned act in a joint capacity as chair of the Professional Development Subcommittee. They will discuss how ALMU intends to support the professional development needs of ALMU members. Technology & Information Subcommittee Chair, Dr T.C.S.M. Gupta, will touch on the subcommittee’s work on knowledge sharing regarding information on lubricants, as well as changing trends in the lubricants industry.
